For a fresh start…

Ascetica or Publish?

After having spent few hours going through the free themes available for WordPress users I shortlisted Able, Ascetica, Publish and Runo Lite. At present I’m not sure if to use Ascetica or Publish but I think I’ll try Ascetica and if not fully satisfied I’ll change again in the next few days.

What do you think?

A New Theme?

Hi there,

I think the time to give this Blog a new look has arrived. In the next few hours/days I’ll try to find something better than this, a theme with more white and less black. Any suggestions?

A year ago

Esattamente un anno fa’ ho iniziato questo Blog. Come scritto in questo post ho iniziato principalmente come esperimento, volevo imparare le basi ed ero curioso di capire se tenere un Blog era qualche cosa che potessi fare a lungo termine. Le cose fino a questo momento sono andate abbastanza bene anche se devo ancora imparare molto. Vi lascio con alcune statistiche relative al primo anno.

Exactly a year ago I started this Blog. As mentioned in this post, only written in Italian, I started  this Blog as an experiment, I wanted to learn the basic skills for keeping and writing a blog and I wanted to find out if having a blog was something I really wanted to do on a long term. After the first year I can say: I enjoy writing on this Blog and I’ve learnt few things I didn’t know when I started even if few more are needed. I’m including in this post some statistics for the last year.

A new look!!

Dopo alcuni tentativi ho finalmente deciso di cambiare l’aspetto di questo Blog. Come accennato ieri la scelta era da fare tra due ‘themes’ di recente pubblicazione, uno dei quali inspirato da IMac e apple; ITheme2. Inutile dire che il ‘theme’ che prende spunto dalla grande mela e’ stata la mia scelta, scelta che per il momento mi soddisfa pienamente. Spero vi piaccia.

Oltre a cambiare il ‘theme’ del Blog ha aggiunto un nuovo logo. Creare un logo era una cosa che mi sembrava difficile da fare, quasi impossibile, ma grazie ad un programma trovato su internet la pratica si e’ rivelata abbastanza semplice anche per uno come me con pochissime conoscenze informatiche.

After few attempts I finally decided to change the appearance of this Blog. As I mentioned yesterday two ‘themes’ attracted my attention but in the end the theme ‘apple inspired’, ITheme, was picked as the various options seemed to be more appropriate for my needs. I hope you like the new version.

In addition to the new appearance, to improve the look of this Blog, I added a new logo. I was not sure how to create a logo and I though it was a very difficult task to do but thanks to a program found on the net even a person like me could create something decent in short time.

A new theme?

E’ da un po’ di tempo che ci sto pensando, forse e’ arrivato il momento di cambiare aspetto a questo Blog. Durante questo fine settimana decidero’ cosa fare. Il theme ‘Enterprise’ mi piace pero’, dopo quasi un anno, forse e’ arrivato il momento di dare un aspetto un po’ diverso a questo Blog. Al momento i due themes che preferisco sono ‘Skeptical‘ e ‘ITheme2‘; vediamo quale dei due si adatta meglio a questo Blog. Qualche consiglio?

Ps: mi sono reso conto che e’ passato tanto tempo dal mio ultimo post scritto in Italiano, nelle prossime settimane cerchero’ di usare la mia lingua madre piu’ spesso.

I think that its about time to give this Blog a new and refreshed appearance even if the theme ‘Enterprise’ has been used for less than a year and fits well with the needs of this Blog. As I’m not very familiar with blogs, to decide which theme to use has been a difficult task and at the present I’m thinking to use either the theme ‘Skeptical‘ or the newest ‘ITheme2‘; over this weekend I’ll decide. Any advise?

No time

Scusate per la mancanza di nuovi post ma e’ un periodo nel quale il lavoro mi tiene molto occupato e la stanchezza mi impedisce di scrivere. Spero da domani di essere in grado di dedicare piu’ tempo a questo Blog.

I apologise for the lack of new ideas and new posts but I’m very busy at work and in the evening often to tired to think and write. I hope that things get better from tomorrow so I’ll dedicate more time to this Blog.

Ieri ho raggiunto 5000 hits, numero sorprendentemente alto considerando che ho iniziato solo circa 6 settimane fa’ e che prima di iniziare conoscevo poco e niente di come fare/gestire un blog. Grazie a tutti i lettori di questo Blog per aver visitato/letto i miei post. Un saluto particolare ad una persona che legge dal Bangladesh e che e’ la prima ed unica iscritta a questo Blog.

Yesterday I reached 5000 hits, an impressive result considering I only started blogging about 6 weeks ago and that before starting this Blog I did not know much on how to do/keep a blog. Thank you very much for reading my posts or simply visiting this Blog. In particular, I’d like to thanks a person from Bangladesh who is the first and only one subscriber to this Blog.

Oggi un post molto veloce per spiegare il motivo per cui ho eliminato alcuni commenti dal Blog. In questo Blog sono ammessi solo commenti scritti in Italiano o Inglese. Il motivo e’ molto semplice; Italiano ad Inglese sono le uniche lingue che comprendo ed i messaggi scritti in altre lingue verranno cestinati. Questo non vuole essere una forma di censura ma e’ solo un mezzo per garantire un po’ di qualita’ in questo Blog.

Today a very short post to explain the reasons behind the removal of some comments from this Blog. In this Blog only comments written in Italian or English are allowed as I only understand these two languages. This is not meant to be a form of censorship but only a way to prevent misunderstandings and assure a bit of quality.

Flags, flags and flags

If I’d known…. Now, I think, it is too late. I only  started the flag counter few days ago but I’m already obsessed. I think about flags every second and I check for new flags every minute. I hope there is a cure… If I don’t get a new flag in the next 10 minutes I’ll have an epileptic fit. It’s coming… I can feel it.
